There are perhaps hundreds of copywriting principles scattered all over the place, but most people usually just learn the fundamentals and no more. There are many aspiring copywriters out there that fail to make an impression just because they work out their own rules and refuse to put in the effort in the right direction. You cannot be a lazy person and ever expect to write good copy, and so with that let's talk more about it.

To the trained and experienced copywriter, it is easy to tell how much another copywriter has about the product just by reading the copy. A huge part of any sales copy is how well the benefits are conveyed to the reader, and product knowledge is what gives the writer that knowledge. If you do not know the product, then it tends to almost always produce copy that is boring and maybe even rambling. By learning and knowing about the proposition, you'll be in a better position to craft out a convincing copy. There are certain principles of copywriting that you need to follow, and just one of them is sites to write very clearly and directly without over-engineering things. Much if not all that is known about how to write effective copy is taken from testing and experience, and easy to understand words and presentation is what works. Writing simply and clearly can be done regardless of who your audience is, and doing that is the challenge you will have to meet as a copywriter.

You cannot ever successfully make bold claims, or any kind of claims, without having a means to show they are correct and truthful. It is ideal if you can offer third party validation of your claims because that means it is more toward being unbiased. Quite often, if not usually, you will have to do your own research to find something to use that is credible. There are differing scenarios in which the trust level will be higher or lower, but never mind that a little bit because the proof of claims assertion still applies.

You do have to be careful who you learn from, but a little homework on Google should straighten that out pretty quickly. Focus on learning copywriting principles until you are sick and tired of them - and then make sure you know them.
